I did it. I signed up for my first 5K. I am both nervous and excited. I have wanted to do one for a long time, but obviously, I am not a runner. I tried C25K before and failed during week 3. I am currently on week 3 and feeling really good. I WILL push my body to do what I want it to do. I will run/jog that 5K and give it my all.
The race is on June 8th and I will be running with my friend, Tinese. According to the picture below, my Color Runner name is Sassy Sugar Socks and Tinese's is Glamorus Floating Bubbles. :)
If you've never heard of The Color Run, here is how the event works:
Less about your 10-minute-mile and more about having the time of your
life, The Color Run is a five-kilometer, un-timed race in which
thousands of participants, or “Color Runners”, are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer. With only two rules, the idea is easy to follow:
1. Wear white at the starting line. |
2. Finish plastered in color! |
The fun continues after Color Runners complete the race with an
unforgettable Finish Festival. This larger than life party is equipped
with music, dancing and massive color throws, which create millions of
vivid color combinations. Trust us, this is the best post-5k party on
the planet!
Tinese and I are super excited about this 5K. 62 days!!! Woot! Woot!

I did the color run last year and I'm doing it again at the end of May! It's a blast and it's a great "starter" 5k!! You'll do great! Remember you'll be messy. I recommend bringing old sheets to cover your car seats, it was a life saver for me :)
The color run is my FAVORITE!!! I am so proud of you and will be following you and encouraging you!!! You've got this sister!!!!
Congratulations for signing up for your first 5K! It's something I've wanted to do for a while, but I've never had the guts. I've heard the Color Run is loads of fun, so I hope you enjoy it!
